Witness appeal following assault in Gosport

We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of an assault in Gosport this morning (7 September).

Officers received a report that a man in his 50s was approached by a man and assaulted at around 7.15am in Morrisons car park on Walpole Road.

The victim suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital to receive treatment.

The man police would like to speak to is described as being: White, tall, aged 18 – 24, with a shaven head. He was wearing a navy-blue t-shirt, black shorts and blue sandals with socks.

Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out enquiries and would like witnesses to come forward with information.
